SN:3921  British Social Attitudes Survey, 1996

The variables LIBAUTHB and LFTRIGHB have been updated in the por files for 
this study.  A memo from Katarina Thomson of the National Centre for Social 
Research (below) details an error they had found with the two variables
affected.  They supplied syntax to correct the error and the files have now 
been corrected.

'The fault is that respondents who did not complete the self-completion
(where these questions were asked) have not been given a skip code, but
appear to have scale scores.

Before running this code, there are no -1 values for these variables.
After running the code, there should be the following number of -1 values:

g921a        535 cases
g921b        8 cases'


The files were corrected and frequencies were run, they matched the expected
cases listed by the depositor for -1.

The updated g921a.por and g921b.por are now named g921au.por and g921bu.por
respectively.
